Champaign County Electronic Recycling

Champaign County will be holding a residential electronics collection event on Saturday October 14, 2017. The event will take place from 8am-12pm at Parkland College, 2400 West Bradley Avenue in Champaign, Illinois. Residents MUST register online in advance: ecycle.simplybook.me. You can also view the event flyer with additional details on what items are accepted.

Reminder: Dump Day

Saturday June 17th the Village will be hosting a dump day. Please take this opportunity to clean up and keep Gifford looking great! Dump day will take place, rain or shine.

Dump day will take place by the Village storage garage from 8am until Noon and will cost $10 per dump. We will also have a dumpster for metal recyclables.

Items that are NOT permitted: computers, TVs, yard waste, tires, and construction debris.

Electronics Recycling Information

Recycling is an issue that comes up in our community and the City of Champaign has great information about the best ways to recycle electronics in the area.

Champaign County also has annual recycling events in the fall and spring. Their fall event has been completely booked (see link above).

However you can also consult their resident’s guide for Recycle/Reuse Unwanted Electronics to see how dispose of these items throughout the year.

2016 Gifford Community Celebration

The annual Gifford Community Celebration will be taking place this Saturday, June 25th.

The events start at 7 A.M. at Werner Roessler Park with the 5K (6 A.M. registration), followed by the kids 1K (8 A.M. registration), many other activities, food, and drink vendors. At 6 P.M. the events shift to Main Street with a beer garden and live music. The fireworks will be let off around dusk.
