Recycling is an issue that comes up in our community and the City of Champaign has great information about the best ways to recycle electronics in the area.
Champaign County also has annual recycling events in the fall and spring. Their fall event has been completely booked (see link above).
However you can also consult their resident’s guide for Recycle/Reuse Unwanted Electronics to see how dispose of these items throughout the year.
The next Village Board Meeting will be held at the Gifford Village Building on July 7, 2016 at 7 PM. The agenda is posted on our Public Meetings page. The Public Meetings page also contains information on past meetings, and a schedule of upcoming meetings.

The annual Gifford Community Celebration will be taking place this Saturday, June 25th.
The events start at 7 A.M. at Werner Roessler Park with the 5K (6 A.M. registration), followed by the kids 1K (8 A.M. registration), many other activities, food, and drink vendors. At 6 P.M. the events shift to Main Street with a beer garden and live music. The fireworks will be let off around dusk.

Saturday June 18th the Village will be hosting a dump day. Please take this opportunity to clean up and keep Gifford looking great!
Dump day will take place by the Village storage garage from 8am until Noon and will cost $10 per dump. We will also have a dumpster for metal recyclables.
Items that are NOT permitted: computers, TVs, yard waste, tires, and construction debris.

The 2016 GIfford Community Garage Sale will take place on June 11th. A number of the sales will also be open on Friday June 10th.

The Village of Gifford now has a recycling container for Gifford residents.
The container is located just West of Casey’s, across 136 from the Village building. The recycling container accepts paper, plastic, and cardboard.
We ask that all residents break down materials (cardboard specifically), to the best of their abilities, to ensure we fill the container to its maximum capacity.
